Local Area
Shropshire boasts some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. Take a leisurely walk on the towpath alongside the Shropshire Union Canal, or for the more energetic, walk or cycle around the lanes and the surrounding villages and enjoy the scenery. You can even hire a canal narrow boat for the day from Norbury Wharf.
Coarse fishing on the canal towpath by day ticket or fly fishing approximately 4 miles away at the local trout fishery, and championship golf courses Hawkstone Park, Hill Valley and Market Drayton are all within easy reach.
We are situated approximately 5 miles from Market Drayton, home of the Gingerbread - it's been baked here for over 200 years to a traditional secret recipe. Attractions include a popular street Market every Wednesday and an indoor and out door swimming pool.
The picturesque town of Newport is approximately 7 miles away and has an excellent variety of specialist shops, stocked with mouth watering delights and gifts.
There are many glorious gardens close by, the breathtaking (literally) Hawkstone Park Follies, Wollerton Old Hall, Dorothy Clive Garden and the National Trust property Attingham Park.
Within a short drive you can visit the magnificent Ironbridge and its Gorge Museum and of course the Potteries and the historic town of Shrewsbury.
Shrewsbury has a wealth of architectural buildings, museums and shopping centre and hosts an annual flower shower in Shrewsbury's Dingle in August.
Come and explore this beautiful Shropshire Countryside - you won't be disappointed!
